Why Heat Stress Is a Problem
Cows don’t handle hot weather well. When the temperature goes above about 22 °C (72 °F), they start to feel the heat. They breathe faster, eat less, stand up more, and milk production drops. In severe cases, heat stress can even affect fertility and overall herd health.
Think of it this way: a cow in hot weather is like you working outside in heavy clothes with no breeze. Without air moving around her, she struggles to cool down.
